Ammonium sulphate fertiliser produced at the Dâures facility will be made available to Namibian farmers, reducing dependence on imported fertilisers and strengthening domestic agricultural productivity, contributing to a more food-secure Namibia.
The project creates skilled and semi-skilled employment during both construction and operations, with up to 115 permanent jobs in a rural area where opportunities are limited. A deliberate focus on Namibian local content and workforce development applies throughout. A structured Community Development Programme supports the Dâures Constituency and surrounding communities.
By producing ammonia from renewable energy instead of natural gas, DGHV Phase 2 avoids approximately 48,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions annually by displacing conventional fertiliser production using grey ammonia, equivalent to taking thousands of vehicles off the road annually.
